 Bursar

All students at The University of Mississippi will have a bursar account. A bursar account is the university’s central method of charging students fees, tuition, healthcare charges, etc. as well as processing scholarships and collecting payments. All IEP students must pay their bursar accounts after receiving the “Bursar Sheet” that declares all expected charges and scholarships. The following link provides more information on the Ole Miss Bursar Office.
Bursar Accounts can be paid with international Master/Visa credit cards or US checks, cash, and money orders. Payments with US credit cards will incur a transaction fee.

International payments can also be made through Flywire, which allows students to pay from your home country, often in your home currency, through a variety of methods. Log into myOleMiss to view these options and pay your fees.

Banking

At the beginning of each semester, the IEP offers shuttles to local banks for students wishing to open bank accounts. Most international students without US Social Security Numbers may open a checking/debit account at First National Bank of Oxford, Community Trust BankRegions Bank, and others. The ISSS Banking page is a good resource for what you will need to open an account in Oxford.

Working

Some international students can work on campus, and under certain circumstances may also be able to work off campus. Before seeking or accepting employment, please learn more about your visa restrictions at the ISSS Student Employment webpage or by contacting the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) directly.

For information on obtaining a SSN, please contact the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS).
